Maria Armoudian is the host and producer of the Insighters. She is also a singer/songwriter of environmentally/politically conscious music and Ph.D. candidate in political science and international relations.  As a journalist, she has been syndicated by both the New York Times Syndicate, the Los Angeles Times Syndicate and written for publications including Salon.com, Alternet, the Los Angeles Daily News, Daily Variety, Billboard, the Progressive and Business Week.  She has also served as an environmental commissioner for the City of Los Angeles and worked for 8 years in the California State Legislature.  Maria is finishing up her first book about media and politics titled Kill the Messenger: Media's Role in the Fate of the World to be published by Prometheus Books.
